Rutland Street Studios

A disused hosiery factory is being refurbished to become new workspace for professional artists and designer-makers. The Grade II-listed factory is located at 82-86 Rutland Street, between Five Thai restaurant and Club Helsinki in the heart of the Cultural Quarter. It was built by hosier J Brown in 1860 - the oldest hosiery factory of any size to survive in the East Midlands.

The building will open in November 2012 and will be remotely managed by LCB Depot.

The ten units available to lease will be particularly suitable for professional artists, designer-makers and crafts people, including wet, messy or light industrial creative practices such as ceramics or fashion.
